Reconciling the Other: Travelling Objects and Collaborative Teaching

A collaborative art education project involving Japan and the Czech Republic focused on enculturation processes experienced by two teachers their students, how immersion in visual arts can contribute to cultural understanding reconciliation of pedagogical approaches art. This also addressed this with unknowable ‘Other’ through creation artwork, ‘travelling objects’ teaching. Outcomes include similarities between objects from countries suggest that participants strived reconcile Other, thus creating a spatial relational intermediate space dealing those communicating together.
